Among various interventions, surgery for cluster headache (CH) includes electrical
stimulation of ipsilateral or bilateral occipital nerve(s) (ON), supraorbital nerve,
sphenopalatine ganglion (SPG), and hypothalamus (hypothalamic deep brain stimulation
[DBS]). There is no established and universally accepted algorithm for choice of surgical
approach due to insufficient evidence base and reported variable results.
